Wedding Tuxedos
What are wedding tuxedos?
Wedding tuxedos are
men's formal garments worn by the male members of a wedding party which
compliment the attire worn by the female members of the wedding party. A
wedding tuxedo consists of a tuxedo jacket, formal trousers, a tuxedo
shirt,
tux shoes and formal accessories.
Wedding Tuxedo Jacket Styles
A wedding tuxedo can
be any style of formal jacket. A notch, peak or shawl collar jacket with
anywhere from one to 12 buttons on the front. The most common jacket
worn as a wedding tuxedo is the two button single breasted notch tuxedo
jacket with matching trousers. Read more about tuxedos.
Wedding Tuxedo Trousers
When selecting trousers or pants for your wedding tuxedo, make sure they match the jacket. For instance, if you are wearing a black tuxedo, you should be wearing black tux pants. If you are wearing a white tux, make sure you are wearing either white or black tux pants. You can also wear black trousers with an ivory tuxedo jacket.
On the side of wedding tuxedo trousers you'll find a stripe of satin or grosgrain material running vertically down the leg of the pant. Not only is this normal but it is also required if you want your wedding attire to look right. Just make sure that the stripe's material matched the lapel of the jacket. Meaning if you have a satin lapel or collar, the stripe on the trousers should be satin too. If you have a grosgrain collar or lapel, then you should have a grosgrain stripe. Wedding Tuxedo Shoes
Wedding tuxedo shoes are most commonly known as shiny tux shoes. This is no longer the case because tuxedo shoes now come in a wide array of options including shiny or patent finish, matted finish and two tone. When choosing shoes for your wedding, be certain that the covering of the shoe matches the lapel and stripe of your wedding tuxedo. For instance, if the lapel of your jacket is satin, it will have a sheen, then the pant stripe should also have the same sheen. The shoes you choose for your wedding should have a sheen to them as well. If you have a grosgrain lapel and stripe, the matted finish will work very well. The two tone shoe covering should only be worn if you have two-tones in your wedding tuxedo. For instance, if you are wearing a white tux and black pants, then two tone tux shoes will look great.
