Great customer service July 3, 2010 ARiggs I like these shirts a lot, and when the Geoffrey Beene outlet closed, I found this vendor. I made the mistake of ordering the "fitted" version which ironically didn't fit as well as the "non-fitted". The vendor took them back and sent the ones I meant to buy with no questions asked.
Love the shirt, hate the pins April 27, 2010 T. Lin (SoCal) Since I started working in the business district, I have been looking for a nice low maintenance shirt to go with my Dockers wrinkle free, permanent crease, easy to take care of slacks. These are probably the best bang for the buck and after my last purchase; I have every color in the sateen fitted line of shirts. These are easy to take care of, almost wrinkle free, and last at least a year before degrading in the looks department. I usually wear these 8 months out of the year, four times a week and put them through the washer and dryer once every two weeks. For the most part, they are virtually maintenance free for a single guy like me who doesn't have a wife or GF to do my laundry.
My only complaint is with all the pins that are stuck in the shirt when you open it for the first time. I know where all of them are, but there always seems to be at least one pin that is bent out of place and difficult to remove and I usually end up pulling out a thread trying to remove these pins. This doesn't give you a good feeling if you already damaged the shirt before you even wear it for the first time, but fortunately, these loose threads are not too noticeable. Personally, I think there has got to be a better way of packaging these shirts without all the pins.
Do you hate to iron? April 8, 2010 Brian Nallick (Mpls, MN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I sure do.
I've worn these shirts for years.
Now, granted...like many other brands these had their problems in the beginning.
The first shirt I bought from this brand was a really cool dark brown with blue highlights.
This was maybe ten years ago before brown and blue became such "in" colors.
It was a beauty but after only a few weeks the edge of the collar and the edge of the cuffs wore off and faded into a totally different color.
THAT shirt went in the garbage.
I then stuck with Calvin Klein dress shirts till one day I noticed a Beene dress shirt in a stunning emerald green.
I HAD to have it.
Is it just me or is a pretty green almost impossible to find in mens dress shirts?
Most of them either lean to the brown or yellow end of the green spectrum.
Not this shirt. Everyone loved this shirt and this is the one shirt that really started my love affair with Geoffrey Beene.
It wore well, withstood multiple washings.
And years later, Beene is the only dress shirt I still wear.
How much more simple can it be to look good?
Wash it, dry it, done.
Now.....if they would just bring back that emerald green and brown/blue hue shirt I would be in Beene heaven.
The fit of the shirt is perfect unless you buy one of the "fitted" versions which I am too heavy to wear lol.
Geoffrey Beene shirts come....
Highly Recommended!!!
Plan on 2 washings March 3, 2010 Vicki Sanders (EXPORT, PA, US) The package fold creases didn't come out with 1 washing. I hate ironing so I washed a second time and it came out nice. Now to see how it lasts....
High Quality, Fitted Shirt February 16, 2010 P Wani (Miami, FL USA) Great fitted dress shirt. The sateen effect is very subtle especially on the white, so safe to wear for interviews etc as well. This shirt is quite fitted, there's a very visible tapering too, which some may like, some may not. I love the shirt and with wrinkle free, nothing more I could ask for in a dress shirt.
